Overview:
In Calculus, students learn about functions, graphs, and limits as well as derivatives, integrals, and their applications. AP courses in calculus consist of a full high school academic year of work and are comparable to calculus courses in colleges and universities. It is expected that students who take an AP course in calculus will seek college credit, college placement, or both from institutions of higher learning. Honors Calculus courses are similar to AB Calculus, but operate under the assumption that students will not take the AP exam. Research shows that these Eight Effective Teaching Practices can help students understand these concepts at a deep level. These practices are further outlined in the teaching cycle described below. |
